Dr Unmesh Chakraverty is a renowned orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in Joint conservation and replacement surgery. After completing his M.S. Orhtopaedics in 2007 he did his Senior Registrarship from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital New Delhi and was extensively trained in Arthroscopy. He did his 2nd Masters in Orhopaedics and was awarded DNB Orhtopaedics in 2008. From 2008 till 2009 he underwent the prestigious Johnson and Johnson fellowship in Joint replacement and worked at Breach Candy, Sushrusha Hospital & Laud Clinic in Mumbai. He was also trained in Computer navigated Knee replacement during that time. In 2009 he was awarded the AO international fellowship at BG Klinik, Tubingen, Germany in adult reconstruction followed by Link Arthroplasty fellowship in Diakone Krankenhaus, Germany where he underwent Knee and Hip replacement training in a speciality Arthritis klinik. In 2010 during his practice he was awarded the prestigious A.K. Gupta Gold Medal award and in 2010 he was awarded the Golden Nail award in the National conference NAILS con. In 2014 he did his Advanced reconstruction fellowship from Germany where he was extensively trained in Arthroscopy of Knee , Shoulder and Joint conservation surgery.
Dr Unmesh has been a regular faculty in National and International conferences. He did the prestigious AO Faculty Education Program in 2015. In 2016 he travelled to China as AO Faculty fellow where he was trying Surgeons in China in the AO Surgeons course. In 2018 he did the prestigious AO Chairpersons education Program in Hong Kong. In 2018 he was selected as one of the few Surgeons from India in the AO Asia Pacific expert symposium in Hong Kong where he presented his work in adult Reconstruction. In 2019 he was again selected in the AO Asia Pacific expert symposium Kuala Lumpur where he presented his work on joint conservation surgery.
Dr Unmesh Chakraverty has been a faculty on a regular basis in the AO ORP courses, AO surgeons courses. He has also been Course Chairperson in AO Surgeons and ORP courses conducted all over India on a regular basis. He has been training Surgeon fellows and ORP fellows from various countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal as AO Alliance Fellowship in charge on a regular basis from 2016 and has trained 10 fellows since then.
He has various publications in his name published in National and International journals and he is a regular speaker in various national and international conferences.
His focus of Orthopaedic surgery is Joint diseases in adults. His expertise in joint preservation surgery through Arthroscopy and osteotomy is his passion. For older patients with advanced Arthritis he does state of the art Knee, Hip and Shoulder replacement using the latest technology available.
